Ross County needs to win a third play-off match consecutively to maintain their place in the Scottish Premiership, following a 1-1 draw with Motherwell.
The Staggies took the lead just before the 30-minute mark with a goal from Ronan Hale, and Motherwell managed to equalize late in the game through Moses Ebiye. However, the outcome in Dingwall turned out to be insignificant as Dundee achieved the necessary result against St Johnstone.
County launched a quick attack in the third minute, as Alex Samuel set up Michee Efete to cross to Hale in the center. Unfortunately, Hale couldn't take a clear shot.
Dan Ashworth's crosses from corners caused problems, but the away team gained momentum and pushed into the attacking third more frequently as the first half progressed. Andy Halliday tested goalkeeper Jordan Amissah in the 27th minute.
Although news of Dundee taking the lead in Perth circulated, Staggies fans had a reason to cheer soon after.
Wright intercepted the ball in midfield and passed to Hale, who scored into the top corner, granting his team a lead in the 29th minute.
The remainder of the first half saw both teams evenly matched, with John Koutroumbis narrowly missing a deflected shot towards the top corner.
In the second half, the visitors gained more control, maintaining possession better but struggling to create clear scoring opportunities.
Even their well-executed play in the 60th minute, which ended with Lennon Miller attempting a shot, was an easy save for Amissah.
Tension rose for County with less than 15 minutes remaining, as Callum Slattery's shot from outside the box slipped from the grasp of the Staggies' goalkeeper, leading to Koutroumbis hitting the post from long range.
In the same sequence, Tom Sparrow redirected the ball into the net via the post, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside call confirmed by VAR Andrew Dallas.
The visitors persisted and managed to level the score in the 83rd minute with a header from Ebiye into the top corner.
Ebiye had a chance to secure the victory for Motherwell right after the equalizer. With County pushing forward, the Nigerian faced Eli Campbell one-on-one, evaded him and narrowly missed the target with his shot.
