Celtic forward Adam Idah scored in the second half to prevent Rangers from winning their third consecutive Old Firm derby, settling for a 1-1 draw in the William Hill Premiership match at Ibrox.
Rangers seemed poised to continue their winning streak against Brendan Rodgers' team, following their victories in January and March, when Cyriel Dessers scored just before halftime.
However, Idah's goal extended Rangers' winless run to six games in all competitions. Under interim manager Barry Ferguson, Rangers have only won four out of their 12 games, failing to secure a home victory since February 2.
Ferguson made changes to the starting lineup from the previous 2-2 draw at St Mirren, introducing Leon Balogun, Connor Barron, Nedim Bajrami, and Vaclav Cerny. Meanwhile, Celtic had to make three substitutions from the team that won 5-0 against Dundee United, with Anthony Ralston, Adam Idah, and James Forrest filling in for the injured players.
Before the match, despite not receiving a guard of honour from Rangers, Celtic was cheered on by approximately 2,100 of their own fans. This marked the first time away supporters attended an Old Firm derby at Ibrox since the 2-2 draw in January 2023.
Rangers had a strong start with Balogun almost scoring in the first minute from a corner kick. However, VAR disallowed a goal by Raskin in the 24th minute due to an offside call. On the other side, Celtic's Carter-Vickers had a chance in the 33rd minute, saved by Kelly. The home side eventually took the lead with Dessers' goal right before halftime.
In the second half, Celtic equalized through Idah's goal, which was initially ruled out for offside but later allowed after a VAR review. Maeda had an opportunity to secure the victory for Celtic at the end, but Rangers' Kelly made a crucial save to ensure the match ended in a draw.
