Regan Linney scored twice to help Altrincham in their pursuit of a play-off spot with a 3-0 victory over a 10-man Halifax side.
Altrincham had a good opportunity early on with Alex Newby's shot saved by Toby Savin, and they capitalised in the 10th minute as Jake Bickerstaff found the net after a forward run.
Lewis Banks had a chance to extend the lead before half-time, but his shot went over the bar. In the second half, Altrincham goalkeeper Caleb Ansen made a crucial save to deny Jamie Cooke before Halifax were reduced to 10 men when Lewis Leigh was shown a red card in the 58th minute.
Following the sending off, Altrincham seized control of the game. Linney converted a penalty in the 65th minute before completing his brace just eight minutes later, tapping in Lucas Weaver's pass to secure the win.
The result leaves Altrincham three points adrift of the play-off positions, while Halifax remain sixth in the league standings.
