Bournemouth set a new record for the most points gained in a Premier League season, although they would have hoped for more following a goalless draw against 10-man Crystal Palace.
The match lacked rhythm and ended with referee Sam Barrott showing a total of nine yellow cards.
Two of these cards went to Palace defender Chris Richards, who was sent off controversially towards the end of the first half.
The draw elevated Bournemouth to 49 points, but with their hopes of reaching Europe diminishing, they will feel frustrated about not taking advantage of the extra player on the field.
Daniel Munoz, who recently extended his contract with Selhurst Park until 2028, tried to kick-start Palace's attack early on by delivering a low cross for Jean-Philippe Mateta, who narrowly missed connecting with the ball as the offside flag was raised.
Bournemouth then earned a corner, but Dean Huijsen seemed caught off guard when the ball reached him, allowing Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson to control it.
Henderson was called into action in the 20th minute, making a comfortable save from Dango Ouattara’s shot and later denying the Burkina Faso international's header.
With 10 minutes left in the first half, Alex Scott fouled Ismaila Sarr to concede a free-kick in a dangerous central position. However, Eberechi Eze's attempt was blocked by the wall.
Richards received his second yellow card just before halftime for an incident involving Justin Kluivert, according to the decision made by Barrott.
This led to protests from the home team, who believed Richards was unfairly penalized, especially since Scott, who had also been booked earlier, avoided a second yellow in the earlier Sarr foul.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner made a substitution at halftime, bringing on midfielder Jefferson Lerma for Eze, while Lewis Cook replaced Scott.
Bournemouth won a free-kick just before the hour mark, but the delivery was too challenging for Milos Kerkez to convert at the far post. The hosts also failed to create any clear chances from a subsequent corner.
Ouattara tested Henderson with a shot towards the bottom left corner with over 20 minutes remaining, but Bournemouth couldn't break the deadlock despite spending significant time in Palace's half.
The hosts, who had previously defeated rivals Brighton at Selhurst Park with nine players, held on and earned consecutive corners without managing to increase their tally of 14 goals from set-pieces - the joint-highest in the Premier League.
Bournemouth survived a hectic goalmouth scramble in the final minutes and pushed players forward into Palace's penalty box in the dying moments, but were unable to find the winning goal during the four minutes of stoppage time.
