Jake O’Brien's goal secures draw for Everton against Brentford, extending unbeaten streak

Jake O’Brien scored his first goal for Everton, extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches in the Premier League with a 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Yoane Wissa's 13th goal of the season initially seemed like it would secure a victory that would have been only the second defeat for manager David Moyes since he returned to lead the team.

However, O’Brien, an Irish defender, headed in a goal in the second half, earning Everton 15 points out of a possible 24 since Moyes took over.

Despite their strong start, the Toffees missed chances to clinch the win, notably with their in-form striker Beto unable to beat Brentford's goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Brentford, coming off two consecutive wins, showed their determination early on, with Keane Lewis-Potter almost scoring within the first minute with a shot that narrowly missed the target.

Kevin Schade provided a dangerous cross that Wissa headed towards Everton's goal, but it was saved by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Schade's pressure almost led to a mistake by O’Brien, but Pickford managed to clear the ball in time.

Beto, who had scored five goals in the last four league matches, missed a clear opportunity before halftime when he was blocked by Flekken.

Later on, a header from Charly Alcaraz gave Beto another chance, but Flekken made another crucial save.

An injury to Alcaraz disrupted Everton's rhythm, and Brentford took advantage of the moment to score just before halftime.

Wissa's goal came from a rebound after Bryan Mbeumo's header hit the crossbar, putting Brentford in the lead.

In the second half, Wissa thought he scored another goal, but it was ruled offside.

Although Brentford seemed in control, they have struggled to keep a clean sheet at home in the Premier League this season.

Everton managed to equalize in the 76th minute through O’Brien's header, following a swift counter-attack similar to Brentford's style of play.

Beto had a late opportunity to secure the victory for Everton, but once again, Flekken denied him, ensuring the match ended in a draw.
