Their lead extended to 3-0 in the 14th minute when Sean Clare curled a wonderful shot into the top corner from 20 yards out.

Leyton Orient increased their lead to 4-0 in the 34th minute after Exeter made an error during a free-kick, allowing Leyton Orient to quickly regain possession and set up Markanday to score past Exeter's goalkeeper Joe Whitworth.

Exeter pulled one goal back through Millenic Alli, who headed in a cross from Tony Yogane, and then Alli scored again with a header from an Ed Francis corner kick to make it 4-2 by the 56th minute.

Abdulai ended any chances of a comeback by completing his hat-trick in the 64th minute from Jack Currie's low cross.
