Accumulator tips for the weekend: Selecting five winning teams from European matches

2025 sees a full schedule of matches across Europe's top leagues for the first time this weekend, promising an action-packed couple of days ahead.

Sunday, 1pm

Celta Vigo has a solid home record but struggles against LaLiga's top teams. They have suffered defeat in four out of five matches against Spain's top five, with a recent 3-1 loss in Bilbao.

Athletic Bilbao has secured four away wins this season and won five of their last six league games. The Basque side is aiming for a top four finish and is likely to continue their good run in this fixture.

Sunday, 2:30pm

Mainz faced a defeat against Bayer Leverkusen recently but has a chance to bounce back against Union Berlin. The hosts have lost eight of their last 10 matches and are on a three-game losing streak.

Mainz has scored three goals in six out of their eight away matches so far and has a perfect record against teams in the bottom half of the table. Expect the visitors to reignite their push for European competition.

Sunday, 4:15pm

Angers has gained momentum with four consecutive wins, including a victory over bottom side Montpellier in Ligue 1. Their winning streak could continue against Auxerre.

Auxerre has relied on their home form for survival but has struggled on the road, losing to all bottom four teams away and facing six defeats in eight away games overall.

Sunday, 5pm

Lazio may be in inconsistent form but they have a chance to regroup in their Champions League pursuit against Verona, who are in fourth-bottom position. Lazio has won four out of five matches against teams in the bottom half.

Verona suffered a 2-0 defeat against Napoli last weekend, marking their seventh consecutive loss to the current top seven teams. With three losses in their last four home matches and just one goal scored, Lazio is favored to add to Verona's troubles.

Sunday, 6pm

Estrela sits in the fifth-bottom position in the Primeira Liga, and facing Braga should pose a tough challenge. Braga's recent win against Benfica in their last league away match adds to their impressive record of six wins in eight away games.

Estrela has suffered three defeats in their first nine home games but is yet to face any of the top five teams at their own ground. They have encountered each of the top seven once, losing five matches and drawing twice.
