Doncaster dominated to take the lead of League Two with an easy 3-0 victory against Colchester.
Harry Clifton, Jordan Gibson, and Patrick Kelly scored the goals that helped Rovers go four points ahead of Walsall, who are in fourth place with two games left to play.
Clifton initiated and completed the first goal after just nine minutes. Following a long pass across the field, he sprinted into the box to connect with a cross from Luke Molyneux and slot the ball in at the far post.
Molyneux set up Rovers' second goal in the 22nd minute, going on a solo run from midfield, evading several challenges, and then passing to Gibson, who slotted the ball through the goalkeeper's legs.
Doncaster expertly managed the game for the rest of the first half, while Colchester showed some spirit after the break.
However, Colchester struggled to create clear chances, with their best opportunity coming when Owura Edwards forced an impressive save from Ted Sharman-Lowe.
Edwards was later sent off in the 80th minute after receiving a second yellow card.
Doncaster sealed the victory in stoppage time when substitute Kelly capitalized on a blocked shot by Ethan Ennis, redirecting the ball past Mandela Egbo on the goal line.
