Dunfermline suffers defeat against Ayr in Neil Lennon's debut as manager

Neil Lennon suffered a 3-1 defeat in his debut game as Dunfermline manager against Ayr in the Scottish Championship.

Things took a turn for the worse for Lennon's side, as they ended the game with 10 players following Victor Wanyama's late red card for handball.

Ayr took the lead through Connor McLennan just before half-time, with Jamie Murphy doubling the advantage in the second half before Ethan Walker sealed the win in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Daniel O’Reilly's goal helped Partick Thistle secure a crucial 1-0 victory over Greenock Morton, boosting their playoff hopes.

Raith also stayed in the top-four race with a convincing 3-0 win against Hamilton, extending their unbeaten run to five games.

A goal from Dylan Easton, a header by Callum Fordyce, and a strike from Josh Mullin secured the win for Raith, leaving Hamilton without a win in their last five matches.
