Woking secures first win in a while by beating struggling Braintree

After failing to win in six consecutive National League games, Woking finally clinched a 2-1 victory against Braintree at Kingfield.

Braintree, who had won their last two matches to move away from the bottom of the table, fell behind early on to a Harry Beautyman penalty.

Woking extended their lead shortly after halftime when Beautyman provided an assist for Tunji Akinola to score with a header.

Although Braintree pulled one back through Aidan Francis-Clarke's header from Ryan Clampin's cross with 20 minutes remaining, Woking managed to maintain their lead until the final whistle.
