Dagenham clinch crucial victory in National League

Dagenham improved their chances of staying in the Vanarama National League with a 1-0 victory over Maidenhead at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The hosts had an early opportunity as Marcus Wyllie connected with a long pass from captain Josh Rees, but his shot was saved by Maidenhead goalkeeper Craig Ross.

Maidenhead came close to scoring in the 30th minute as Will de Havilland set up Shawn McCoulsky, but his shot was saved by Daggers' keeper Jake Turner.

Dagenham scored the decisive goal in the 54th minute when Rees headed in Ryan Hill’s free-kick at the far post.

Rees had another goal disallowed for offside, and Maidenhead's Thierry Latty-Fairweather saw his shot cleared off the goal line.
