Altrincham had the opportunity to narrow the gap on the Vanarama National League play-off positions, but they were unable to do so as they were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom side Ebbsfleet.
The visitors took the lead in the 17th minute through a penalty converted by Regan Linney, who was brought down by Ebbsfleet's Mustapha Olagunju.
Ebbsfleet equalized in the 32nd minute with a superb goal from Aaron Cosgrave from outside the box.
Midway through the second half, Olagunju put Ebbsfleet ahead with a goal from a corner, but Altrincham managed to level the score with a strike from Justin Amaluzor with 15 minutes remaining. As a result, Altrincham remains in eighth place, trailing Gateshead by three points after Gateshead's defeat to league leaders Barnet.
