Birmingham Triumph over Cambridge to Conclude Season with 111-Point Record

Birmingham finished the season with a new EFL record of 111 points by defeating relegated Cambridge 2-1.

Lukas Jutkiewicz entered the game 18 minutes before the end and, in his final professional appearance, played a crucial role in the winning goal scored eight minutes from the final whistle.

Lee-Myung Jae sent a cross from the left, and Jutkiewicz forced Cambridge defender Kell Watts to head the ball into his own net.

The champions of Sky Bet League One took the lead in the 25th minute when Christoph Klarer's cross from the right side of the box ended up in the far corner past U’s goalkeeper Nathan Bishop.

Cambridge equalized 12 minutes later as forward Shayne Lavery outplayed Grant Hanley and scored a fantastic goal past Ryan Allsop.

The second half was mostly quiet until the 68th minute when Kachunga committed a foul on Lee-Myung Jae and was shown a red card for a second yellow offense.

Birmingham capitalized on their numerical superiority, securing the victory with Jutkiewicz's involvement in their record-breaking points total.
