Hearts wrapped up a challenging week with a victory against Ross County in Dingwall, securing three points in the process.
The team, who parted ways with manager Neil Critchley after their last game against Dundee, fell behind to an early goal from Ronan Hale. However, they dominated the game and turned it around with two goals from Lawrence Shankland. The Hearts captain later set up Alan Forrest for the third goal in the 82nd minute, condemning County to their sixth consecutive league defeat.
Forrest had a couple of chances in the beginning to test the home goalkeeper Jordan Amissah, but it was Ross County who took the lead in the 26th minute.
In the first half, Amissah made a crucial mistake by giving the ball away to Jorge Grant, but he recovered by making a good save from Shankland's shot.
Hearts had another opportunity before halftime after a defensive error, but Shankland's pass to Forrest was wasted as he missed the target.
Shankland equalized in the 40th minute, showcasing his skill by beating Jonathan Tomkinson before scoring past Amissah.
In the second half, County had an early chance, but Hearts quickly regained control and went ahead through Shankland's close-range goal.
Shortly after, Forrest missed a chance to extend the lead due to a timely block, while Blair Spittal hit the crossbar from long range.
The third goal came in the 82nd minute, as a mistake from Akil Wright allowed Shankland to set up Forrest for a simple finish.
