Chelsea advance to Champions League semi-finals after staging impressive comeback to defeat City

Chelsea made it to the Champions League semi-finals, securing a 3-0 win over Manchester City in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, resulting in a 3-2 aggregate victory.

The Blues had to give it their all at Stamford Bridge after losing the first leg 2-0, marking their first defeat in all competitions this season, in their fourth consecutive match against City.

Sandy Baltimore opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 14th minute, followed by a goal from Nathalie Bjorn and a third from Mayra Ramirez before halftime.

Next up for Sonia Bompastor’s team is a clash against holders Barcelona, who comfortably booked their spot in the semi-finals with a 6-1 win over Wolfsburg.

Lauren James had an early opportunity for Chelsea, while Bjorn and Lucy Bronze hit the woodwork with their attempts for the hosts.

Chelsea broke the deadlock through Baltimore, who capitalized on a rebound to beat the City goalkeeper with a well-placed shot.

Both teams had chances as the game progressed, with Chelsea eventually equalizing on aggregate through a powerful header from Bjorn and taking the lead just before half-time thanks to Ramirez.

In the second half, both sides had moments of promise but failed to change the scoreline significantly, with Chelsea coming close to adding to their lead through Cuthbert and Rytting Kaneryd.

City tried to stay in the game, but Chelsea's solid defense and a few near-misses from the visitors meant the Blues held on to secure their spot in the semi-finals.
