Luton Break Winless Streak with Victory over High-Flying Cardiff

Luton secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Cardiff, bringing an end to the Welsh side's impressive unbeaten run in a match at Kenilworth Road.

Jacob Brown's goal in the 57th minute helped Luton clinch their first win in four games, lifting them out of the relegation zone in the Championship standings.

The win also saw Luton move ahead of Cardiff on goal difference, as Cardiff's six-match unbeaten streak was halted.

Early in the game, Cardiff had a chance to score with Anwar El Ghazi missing a header wide from a corner just two minutes in.

Luton responded with Carlton Morris setting up Jacob Brown, whose shot was saved comfortably by Jak Alnwick, while Callum Robinson missed a chance for Cardiff.

As the match progressed, both teams struggled to create clear opportunities.

Near the end of the first half, there was some action with El Ghazi's long-range free-kick saved by Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski.

Luton had a chance of their own before halftime, but Amari'i Bell's cross was headed over by Morris.

Both teams had their moments in the second half, with Luton feeling they should have been awarded a penalty for a handball by City defender Dimitrios Goutas.

Luton took the lead through Jacob Brown's powerful header from a corner delivered by Doughty.

Cardiff almost equalized immediately as Yalou Meite's header was saved by Kaminski.

Luton continued to press forward, with Turnbull and McGuinness having attempts saved by Kaminski and Alnwick respectively.

Cardiff's late attempts to score were fruitless, as Town held on for the win despite Doughty picking up a late injury.
