Motherwell clinch Premiership safety with thrilling win against Dundee

Tawanda Maswanhise scored a last-minute winning goal while Motherwell had 10 players on the field, securing their place in the William Hill Premiership with a 2-1 victory over Dundee.

The victory came after Johnny Koutroumbis was shown a red card with the help of VAR in the 80th minute.

Dundee initially took the lead in the first half with a fantastic goal from Antonio Portales, who also had a second goal disallowed later on.

Tom Sparrow equalized for Motherwell in the 59th minute and Maswanhise sealed the victory with a header in stoppage time.

The win put Motherwell 10 points ahead of Ross County, who are second from the bottom with three games left, while Dundee are just two points above Ross County.

Motherwell's Aston Oxborough returned to goalkeeping after recovering from a hand injury and made some crucial saves in the match.

Portales scored a stunning goal for Dundee before VAR disallowed another goal from him due to offside.

Both teams had chances to score throughout the game, with Motherwell ultimately coming out on top despite being down to 10 men.

The match saw some tense moments with Koutroumbis getting sent off after a VAR review, but Motherwell managed to hold on to their lead and secure the win.

Maswanhise's late goal sealed the victory for Motherwell, who could have extended their lead further in the closing stages of the game.
