Tranmere secures crucial victory against Cheltenham in League Two to enhance chances of survival

Tranmere kept their unbeaten streak going to six matches by defeating Cheltenham 2-0, moving them closer to securing their place in League Two for the next season.

The opening goal was scored by Kristian Dennis with a header in the first half, and Cameron Norman secured the victory with a late goal just before the final whistle, helping Rovers distance themselves from the relegation zone.

Early in the game, Cheltenham had a chance to score when Norman almost converted a deep cross, but missed the opportunity to score from close range.

On the other side, Timothee Dieng missed a clear chance to put the visitors ahead by heading over the bar from six yards out with only Luke McGee to beat.

Shortly after, Tranmere took the lead as Dennis headed in a corner from Josh Hawkes, beating Joe Day in the Cheltenham goal.

In the second half, the home team pushed for another goal with Omari Patrick, Sam Finley, and Regan Hendry all going close, before Norman sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time.
