Week 29 LaLiga Matches Preview

- Real Madrid will welcome struggling Leganes on Saturday evening
- Barcelona will play against Girona at home on Sunday afternoon
- Las Palmas are set to visit Celta Vigo to wrap up the weekend's matches on Monday

There are close competitions both at the top and bottom of the standings in Spain, as most teams have only 10 games left to compete.

We take a look at all 10 matches as the teams prepare to resume action following the international break, along with a predicted score for each.

Real Sociedad vs Valladolid (Saturday, 1:00pm)

Valladolid, sitting at the bottom of the table with a nine-point gap, have lost 13 out of their 14 away games in the league. With only one point from their last nine matches, mid-table Sociedad have a good chance to break their own six-game winless streak.

Score prediction: Real Sociedad 2-0 Valladolid

Espanyol vs Atletico Madrid (Saturday, 3:15pm)

Third-placed Atletico Madrid are likely to enjoy a less challenging fixture after facing off against Real Madrid and Barcelona in three of their last four matches. However, 15th-placed Espanyol could make it tough for them to secure the points. The hosts are undefeated in their last eight home matches and previously held Atleti to a goalless draw in August.

Score prediction: Espanyol 0-1 Atletico Madrid

Alaves vs Rayo Vallecano (Saturday, 5:30pm)

Alaves, involved in the relegation battle in 17th place, have managed to avoid defeat in four of their last five games. Vallecano are likely to be slightly stronger, but the match is expected to be closely contested, possibly resulting in a 1-0 outcome similar to Vallecano's win over Alaves in October.

Score prediction: Alaves 0-1 Real Vallecano

Real Madrid vs Leganes (Saturday, 8:00pm)

Real Madrid has already defeated Leganes twice this season, 3-0 in the league and 3-2 in the Copa Del Rey with a significantly changed squad. Therefore, they are anticipated to easily secure a third victory at the Bernabeu. Leganes have lost six of their last eight games and will have better opportunities to earn points in other matches.

Score prediction: Real Madrid 3-0 Leganes

Getafe vs Villarreal (Sunday, 1:00pm)

Getafe managed a late equalizer in their initial league encounter with Villarreal, and another 1-1 draw seems plausible. Getafe has drawn half of their 14 home league games this season, while fifth-placed Villarreal has suffered only four defeats away.

Score prediction: Getafe 1-1 Villarreal

Barcelona vs Girona (Sunday, 3:15pm)

Barcelona head into the match in superior form, having won 10 of their last 11 games compared to Girona's solitary win in their last 11 matches. The league leaders are expected to comfortably secure a home victory.

Score prediction: Barcelona 3-0 Girona

Athletic Bilbao vs Osasuna (Sunday, 5:30pm)

Ernesto Valverde and Athletic Bilbao are really strong when playing at home.
Ernesto Valverde and Athletic Bilbao are really strong when playing at home.

In fourth place, Athletic Bilbao have only lost one of their 14 home league games, while Osasuna struggles on the road with just one win and seven goals in 13 away matches. Bilbao could achieve a double over Osasuna with a clean-sheet victory.

Score prediction: Athletic Bilbao 2-0 Osasuna

Valencia vs Mallorca (Sunday, 5:30pm)

Valencia is fighting to stay clear of the relegation zone, with Atletico Madrid being the only team to defeat them in their last six matches. Mallorca has gone unbeaten in six games, with four ending in 1-1 draws, making another even result a possibility.

Score prediction: Valencia 1-1 Mallorca

Real Betis vs Sevilla (Sunday, 8:00pm)

Manuel Pellegrini has seen Real Betis win five out of their last six matches.
Manuel Pellegrini has seen Real Betis win five out of their last six matches.

Real Betis is in good form with five wins in their last six matches. They have the potential to extend their winning streak to four against Sevilla, who have failed to score more than once in their last four games and might come up short.

Score prediction: Real Betis 2-1 Sevilla

Celta Vigo vs UD Las Palmas (Monday, 8:00pm)

Celta Vigo would be disappointed if their six-game unbeaten run ended on Monday night against struggling Las Palmas, although it seems unlikely. Las Palmas has gone winless in their last 11 games, losing eight of them, including a 4-1 defeat in this fixture last season.

Score prediction: Celta Vigo 2-1 Las Palmas
