Charlie Kelman secures win for Leyton Orient over Stevenage

Charlie Kelman scored in the 12th minute to help Leyton Orient secure a 1-0 win at home against Stevenage, boosting the club's chances of qualifying for the Sky Bet League One play-offs.

Leyton Orient's hopes of finishing in the top six had slowed down despite a strong performance during the winter months. However, Kelman's early goal, a header, was sufficient for Richie Wellens' side to achieve consecutive victories and close the gap to two points behind sixth-placed Huddersfield.

Despite Stevenage's efforts to equalize in the second half, a crucial double save by Orient's goalkeeper Josh Keeley ensured his team kept a clean sheet for the 14th time this season.

Leyton Orient had ended a streak of five losses with a 2-1 victory over Blackpool on March 15, and Kelman's goal from Clare's cross in the 12th minute set the tone for the match.

The hosts started strongly, and although Stevenage improved as the game progressed, they were unable to capitalize on their chances. Keeley made crucial saves towards the end to deny Harvey White and Kemp, securing Leyton Orient's rise to the eighth position in the league table.
