Southend continued their push for the National League play-offs by keeping their unbeaten streak alive with a 2-1 victory over Eastleigh.
The Shrimpers took the lead within the first minute as Tom Hopper scored from a James Morton corner kick.
Gus Scott-Morriss added his 17th goal of the season with a header just before half-time, while Tyrese Shade scored for the hosts 10 minutes into the second half.
Under Kevin Maher's management, Southend is now unbeaten in nine consecutive National League matches and is only one point away from the play-off positions. Eastleigh, led by Kelvin Davis, slipped down to the 11th spot in the league table.
