Jack Sanders made a successful comeback by helping MK Dons secure a 1-0 victory against Cheltenham.
The defender faced challenges since his arrival at Dons from St Johnstone for £150,000 in January, as he had to spend time in the hospital due to a kidney infection.
However, he returned triumphantly by scoring the winning goal in the ninth minute, heading in Joe White’s cross at the far post following a short corner routine, beating Cheltenham's goalkeeper Joe Day.
This goal was adequate for Dons to claim their second win under interim manager Ben Gladwin.
The team started off strong, with Joe White missing a shot in the third minute and Joe Tomlinson's attempt being blocked in the box.
After Sanders’ goal, Ibrahim Bakare prevented Callum Hendry from scoring with a well-timed block.
Cheltenham's first notable opportunity came in the 18th minute when Matty Taylor's header from Jordan Thomas’ cross went over the bar.
Dons' goalkeeper Connal Trueman made a crucial double save to stop Taylor and Thomas just after the half-hour mark, and Sam Stubbs had a header cleared off the line before halftime.
Cheltenham struggled to threaten in the second half, and Joe Day had to pull off an impressive save in the 89th minute to stop Laurence Maguire from doubling Dons' lead.
