Goalless Draw: Wycombe and Charlton Share Points in Play-off First Leg

Wycombe and Charlton played to a goalless draw in the first leg of their League One play-off semi-final at Adams Park.

Mike Dodds’ Chairboys, despite being the least in form among the play-off teams, performed admirably in the first half.

Jack Grimmer and Fred Onyedinma combined effectively on the right flank to trouble Charlton's defense, coming close to scoring within the first five minutes.

Cameron Humphreys played a great ball to Dan Udoh, whose shot from the edge of the box was saved by goalkeeper Will Mannion.

In the following corner, Sonny Bradley's header missed the target.

The match was closely contested as Charlton found it hard to break through Wycombe's solid defense.

Wycombe appeared sharp, threatening, and a much improved team compared to their 4-0 defeat against Charlton 20 days earlier.

One contentious moment in the first half was Charlton feeling that Wycombe's Richard Kone deserved a red card for a challenge on Kayne Ramsay.

Initially shown a yellow card by referee Farai Hallam, replays indicated that Kone was lucky to avoid a more severe punishment.

Shortly after, Kone was involved in a scuffle with Macaulay Gillesphey, resulting in a brief altercation between both teams.

Following this incident, Wycombe's Xavier Simons and Charlton's captain Greg Docherty were booked.

The second half mirrored the first, with both teams defending resolutely.

Onyedinma and Adam Reach came close for Wycombe, while Bradley blocked Tyreece Campbell's shot.

Will Norris made crucial saves, denying Matty Godden's powerful strike and thwarting Docherty's close-range effort from the subsequent corner.
