Kuhn equalized by rounding Smith after a well-weighted pass from Anthony Ralston, before turning provider for Idah to put Celtic ahead with a precise finish.
In the second half, Bushiri narrowly missed with a header, and tensions rose as Iredale and Kuhn received yellow cards for an off-the-ball incident.
Celtic extended their lead through Hatate's composed finish after a slick passing sequence, with Idah missing additional chances later in the game.
Schmeichel's saves ensured a comfortable ending for Celtic, who also saw promising youngster Sean McArdle make his debut late in the match.
Despite a late attempt from McCowan, Celtic managed to see off Hibernian and secure the victory.
