Rushian Hepburn-Murphy scores twice to alleviate Crawley relegation concerns

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy scored twice in the first half and Panutche Camara added another as Crawley improved their chances of staying in the league with an important 3-1 win at home against Exeter.

This victory was Crawley’s third in the last seven matches since Scott Lindsey returned as the manager, narrowing the gap to safety to just three points with two games left to play.

Hepburn-Murphy and Camara found the back of the net within a short span of two minutes, giving the hosts a solid lead.

After Hepburn-Murphy's initial shot was saved by Joe Whitworth, he scored on the rebound from close range, and then assisted Camara for the second goal after a swift counter-attack, with Camara finishing calmly.

Shortly after, Hepburn-Murphy capitalized on a blocked shot from Camara to make it 3-0, before Caleb Watts pulled one back for Exeter by heading in Ed Francis’ cross a minute later.

Exeter's substitute Tony Yogane missed a chance, hitting the side netting as they struggled to get back into the match.

Goalkeeper Whitworth was lucky to avoid a red card for handling the ball outside the box, while Francis was shown a red card in the final minutes after receiving two yellow cards.
