Late goal by Marcus Harness seals victory for Derby against Plymouth in relegation battle

Marcus Harness scored two goals, including a late winner, as Derby secured a 3-2 victory over Plymouth in the Championship. The win helped Derby alleviate their concerns about relegation.

Bali Mumba, who was brought back into the team, created an early chance for Plymouth with a cross that led to a scoring opportunity for Ryan Hardie. However, Derby's Matt Clarke made a crucial interception to deny Plymouth an early goal.

Ryan Hardie had a chance to score in the 10th minute but was thwarted by Nat Phillips. Shortly after, Derby took the lead through Harness who reacted quickly to a pass from Kane Wilson and found the back of the net.

Derby extended their lead in the 26th minute with a superb volley from Harrison Armstrong following a throw-in by Callum Elder. Plymouth responded with a fantastic free-kick goal from Mustapha Bundu before halftime.

Plymouth equalized early in the second half through Phillips, but Derby regained the lead with Harness scoring his second goal of the game in the 88th minute.

The victory was crucial for Derby in their battle against relegation, while Plymouth's struggles at the bottom of the table continue.
