Observing John Eustace? Blackburn emerge victorious against West Brom despite absence of manager seeking departure.

Blackburn managed just fine without their manager John Eustace, who is looking to leave the club, as Makhtar Gueye scored two goals in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory against West Brom, who are also fighting for a place in the Championship play-offs.

Going into the match without their boss, who has been given permission to speak to Derby, Blackburn showed their determination under the guidance of first-team coach David Lowe.

The first half was uneventful, with Torbjorn Heggem hitting the woodwork with a header. However, the game picked up in the second half.

Ignoring the off-field distractions, Blackburn took the lead with two goals from Gueye, while West Brom had two goals disallowed. This win helped Blackburn move above West Brom in the league table and strengthen their position in the top six.

The Blackburn fans didn't shy away from expressing their feelings towards their absent manager with chants aimed at John Eustace.

West Brom had a slow start but came close to scoring through Mikey Johnston and Adam Armstrong, who was denied by Aynsley Pears. Blackburn's Dolan also had a chance, but his shot was saved by Wildsmith.

Blackburn felt they deserved a penalty early in the second half when Mason Holgate brought down Gueye, but the referee was not convinced.

However, Blackburn didn't let this affect them as they scored shortly after. Gueye capitalized on a header from Dominic Hyam to score with a powerful volley.

Blackburn almost scored again with Gueye hitting the crossbar, while West Brom had goals disallowed for offside and a foul.

Blackburn secured the win with a second goal from Gueye in the 63rd minute after Lewis Travis set him up perfectly in the box.
