Doncaster failed to seize the opportunity to climb into the League Two automatic-promotion positions after a 1-1 draw against Salford, who are aiming for a play-off spot.
Even though Rob Street scored for Rovers, Luke Garbutt equalized quickly, leaving Doncaster tied with Walsall in third place, while Salford are four points away from the play-off places.
Doncaster, riding on a six-game undefeated streak, started the game strongly and had a goal disallowed in the 16th minute when Street's header was canceled out due to a foul.
Despite taking the lead through Street's goal, following a smart Owen Bailey assist, Karl Robinson's team didn't pay attention to the warning signs and conceded the equalizer five minutes later, as Garbutt expertly put away a free-kick.
As the first half was coming to a close, Salford thought they had taken the lead, but the goal was disallowed after Sharman-Lowe was deemed to have been obstructed before Ossama Ashley's header found the net.
Hakeeb Adelakun, facing his former club, hit the post in the busy second half. Jordan Gibson missed a great opportunity to score for Rovers, sending Sterry's pass over the crossbar, while Luke Molyneux tested Salford's goalkeeper Matthew Young with a diving save.
Salford ended the game with 10 players after a tussle involving Sharman-Lowe got Curtis Tilt his second yellow card.
