Mansfield comfortably defeat Exeter to finish season with a victory

Mansfield finished the season strong by securing their second consecutive home victory, defeating Exeter 3-0.

Early in the game, Exeter almost scored within the first 30 seconds when Reece Cole hit the post with a shot from an Ilmari Niskanen pass. However, Mansfield took the lead after 25 minutes.

Louis Reed's 22-yard free-kick hit the crossbar and Stephen McLaughlin capitalized on the rebound, scoring from close range.

Mansfield extended their lead when Dom Dwyer scored from a short distance, following a precise cross from Caylan Vickers, who had made a successful run on the right side.

Exeter's goalkeeper Joe Whitworth made a crucial save before half-time, denying Mansfield a third goal from a powerful shot by Vickers.

In the second half, Niskanen missed a chance to score for Exeter after rounding the goalkeeper but hitting the side-netting with his finish.

Mansfield sealed the victory in the 83rd minute as Reed's pass set up Ben Waine to score.

Despite a late attempt by Cole hitting the post, Exeter couldn't change the outcome, and Jordan Rhodes hit the upright with the last shot of the match.
