Valley Parade sees promotion contenders split the points

In a heated atmosphere at Valley Parade, promotion contenders Bradford and Notts County played out a 1-1 draw in the Sky Bet League Two.

The Bantams took the lead through Ciaran Kelly's header, but their chances of taking the top spot were thwarted by an impressive equalizer from David McGoldrick.

Bradford had the early chances in the intense first half, with Alex Pattison and Antoni Sarcevic coming close to scoring.

Notts County responded with an opportunity from McGoldrick, whose shot narrowly missed the target from 20 yards out.

Visiting goalkeeper Sam Slocombe was tested with a shot from Bobby Pointon as Bradford applied pressure. The hosts earned a series of corners, with Neill Byrne almost converting one from Pointon's delivery.

The deadlock was broken in the 53rd minute when Kelly scored from Brandon Khela's free-kick.

County leveled the score in the 70th minute through a fantastic goal by McGoldrick, who skillfully found the top corner after evading Khela.

McGoldrick continued to threaten with another shot, but Bradford goalkeeper Sam Walker managed to make the save.
