Tamworth strengthens promotion hopes while Gateshead suffers another defeat

Gateshead's losing streak continued as they lost 2-0 to Tamworth at home, who were in good form.

Dan Creaney scored the opening goal for Tamworth with a header from Callum Cockerill-Mollett's cross in the 60th minute.

Creaney then set up Tom McGlinchey for Tamworth's second goal with 12 minutes left in the game.

Tamworth's win marked their fourth victory in the last five matches in the National League, keeping their unbeaten run going to seven games. This victory brought Andy Peaks' team within three points of the play-off spots. On the other hand, Gateshead, led by Carl Magnay, have not won in their last seven matches and remain in sixth place.
