Oldham secured a 2-0 victory against play-off contenders Halifax in their Vanarama National League clash at Boundary Park.
The Latics took the lead after 30 minutes thanks to Kian Harratt, who was starting for the first time since his transfer from Fleetwood.
Halifax started the second half brightly, with Jamie Cooke's shot saved by Tom Donaghy.
Harratt had another close opportunity for Oldham with a shot that narrowly missed the target, while Halifax's Adam Senior headed wide from a free-kick.
In stoppage time, Oldham, currently in fourth place, sealed the win as Mike Fondop scored with a header from a corner, condemning fifth-placed Halifax to their second consecutive loss.
