Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers scored three goals as his team comfortably advanced to the fifth round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup with a 5-0 victory over Fraserburgh at Ibrox.
Despite Rangers dominating the game, Fraserburgh managed to hold them off until the 27th minute when Dessers, a 30-year-old player from Nigeria, scored with a header from a corner kick after missing an earlier chance.
Rangers' French defender Clinton Nsiala also scored his first goal for the team in the second half, followed by another goal from Dessers. The striker then assisted Ross McCausland for a fourth goal before completing his hat-trick.
Manager Philippe Clement took the opportunity to rotate the squad ahead of their upcoming Europa League match against Manchester United, making several changes for the cup game.
The match saw the debut of 18-year-old goalkeeper Mason Munn, along with Zak Lovelace starting in attack. Regular captain James Tavernier returned to the lineup along with other changes.
Rangers continued to dominate the game in the second half, with Nsiala and Dessers adding to the scoreline. The team eventually sealed the victory comfortably with a late goal from McCausland.
Overall, it was a successful match for Rangers, with Dessers standing out with his impressive hat-trick performance.
