In a match between Braintree and 10-man Fylde, Inih Effiong's goal made the difference in a 1-0 victory.
Early in the game, Corey Whelan missed a good opportunity with a header for Fylde, while Braintree had chances of their own, with Chay Cooper's shot saved and Effiong coming close twice.
Braintree continued to press in the second half, with Kyrell Lisbie sending a shot wide before Effiong scored in the 58th minute off a pass from Cooper.
Fylde's challenges increased when Tyler Roberts received his second yellow card in four minutes, reducing them to 10 men. Braintree tried to capitalize on this advantage, but Cooper had a shot cleared.
In the closing moments of the game, Fylde almost equalized as Jon Ustabasi's header was saved by Lucas Covolan and Ustabasi narrowly missed with a late shot that went over the bar.
