Tranmere move towards securing safety with goalless draw against mid-table Barrow

Tranmere moved closer to securing their position in the Football League with a 0-0 draw against Barrow.

This outcome saw Rovers maintain a four-point lead over second-bottom Carlisle. Carlisle's chances of survival are now hanging by a thread following a 1-1 draw with Accrington, with only two matches remaining.

Tranmere aimed to avoid late-season disappointment by clinching a victory, but they were unable to break the deadlock.

In the 68th minute, substitute Connor Jennings missed a golden opportunity to score, sending his shot over the bar.

Tranmere believed they should have been awarded a penalty in the second half when Omari Patrick was fouled by Robbie Gotts. Rovers' manager Andy Crosby, who is already facing a touchline ban, received a yellow card for his protests.

Barrow's goalkeeper, Wyll Stanway, made crucial saves against Sam Finney and Regan Hendry to keep a clean sheet for the fourth consecutive game.

Barrow, who are comfortably placed in mid-table, did not trouble Tranmere's goalkeeper Luke McGee much. The only notable save McGee had to make was from a powerful shot by Barrow's man of the match Kyle Cameron in the first half. This result extended Barrow's unbeaten streak to 11 games.
