Wycombe secure automatic promotion spot after convincing victory over Bolton

Caleb Taylor found the net once again in the latest match, helping Wycombe secure a 2-0 victory over Bolton and climb into the top promotion spots.

The former loanee from Bolton, Taylor, who had scored a late winner against Stevenage previously, headed in a goal in the 58th minute from Luke Leahy's set-piece.

Wycombe sealed the win at Toughsheet Community Stadium with Leahy scoring in the 94th minute.

This win moved Mike Dodds' team one point ahead of Wrexham to second place, right behind champions Birmingham, with only three games left to play.

On the other hand, Bolton, managed by Steven Schumacher, suffered a damaging defeat in their quest for a playoff spot. This loss marked their third consecutive and sixth in the last eight matches, leaving them outside the top six with only three games remaining.

The first half was uneventful with no real threat on either goal, and Bolton had to make an early substitution after Jordi Osei-Tutu's injury.

Bolton did not manage a single shot on target throughout the game, while Taylor and Leahy's goals secured a well-deserved win for Wycombe.
