Reading, who are trying to reach the League One play-offs, could only manage a 1-1 draw against Stevenage at home. Despite this, they continued their unbeaten streak to 10 games.
Although the visitors had a slightly better first half, the Royals took the lead in the 49th minute thanks to an own goal by Carl Piergianni. However, Stevenage's captain quickly equalized with a header just 11 minutes later.
Prior to this match, Reading had triumphed over Wrexham with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday night.
In a rather uneventful start, both teams failed to impress. Stevenage's Brandon Hanlan missed a good chance, while Reading's goalkeeper Joel Pereira made a fantastic save from a shot by Stevenage's top scorer Dan Kemp.
Reading's attacking performance in the first half was lacking, but they took advantage of Piergianni's mistake. The defender inadvertently scored an own goal from a corner taken by Charlie Savage.
Piergianni redeemed himself with a header from Kemp's cross in the 60th minute, beating Pereira.
Although Jordan Roberts came close with a powerful shot from distance, the match ended in a draw.
