Matty Godden scored twice in the first half as Charlton secured their seventh consecutive home victory in Sky Bet League One, beating Wigan 2-1 at home.
Charlton took the lead in the 11th minute when Godden found the back of the net from close range after Kayne Ramsay's cross was not cleared properly.
Despite a good effort from Wigan with a free-kick, Will Aimson managed to clear the ball away from the goal.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 39th minute when Godden scored his 15th goal of the season from close range after a header from Macaulay Gillesphey.
Both Tyreece Campbell and Godden had chances early in the second half but were denied by the opposition.
Wigan, now under the leadership of new head coach Ryan Lowe, posed more danger towards the end of the game, with Dale Taylor missing a good opportunity to score.
Wigan managed to pull one back in the 85th minute through Chris Sze, setting up a tense finale after goalkeeper Will Mannion initially saved a shot from Ronan Darcy.
