Harrogate secures comfortable lead over relegation with win against Accrington

Harrogate extended their lead over the relegation zone in the Sky Bet League Two with a 2-1 victory at home against Accrington, moving 10 points clear.

Josh March scored his sixth goal of the season to secure the win, as Harrogate remained unbeaten at Wetherby Road for the fifth consecutive match.

Jasper Moon, the centre-half for Harrogate, opened the scoring by heading in Ellis Taylor's cross in the 19th minute, with the ball deflecting past Billy Crellin.

Accrington managed to equalize early in the second half, with Josh Woods scoring from Ash Hunter's corner four minutes after the break.

However, the scoreline was level for only a brief period as Josh March capitalized on Toby Sims' pass behind the Accrington defense, netting a superb first-time finish.

Despite Stanley's efforts to find another equalizer, James Belshaw, Harrogate's goalkeeper, made a crucial save from Tyler Walton's header. The hosts almost increased their lead in stoppage time when Tom Cursons narrowly missed the target with his shot.
