Alassana Jatta scored a header in the first half, helping Notts County secure a 1-0 victory over Carlisle, who are currently second from the bottom in League Two.
Jatta now has 13 goals this season, with his goal coming in the 19th minute and placing County in the second position on the league table, 11 points behind the leaders Walsall.
In the early stages of the game, Carlisle had a good chance to score when Joe Hugill broke through the defense, but his attempt was saved by County goalkeeper Alex Bass.
County then had a promising opportunity when George Abbott set up Jatta, but the striker missed the target with his shot.
Abbott later assisted Jatta for the goal, delivering a cross to the back post where the forward scored with a header past Gabriel Breeze.
Abbott almost created another goal when he passed to David McGoldrick, but the goalkeeper made a good save to deny the former Sheffield United striker.
Carlisle came close to equalizing in the second half through Hugill, but his shot hit the post and County held on to claim the victory.
