Elton Kabangu had an impressive first start for Hearts, scoring twice in the second half to help his team avoid an upset in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup with a 4-1 comeback win over Brechin City.
Scott Bright opened the scoring for Brechin, but Hearts leveled before half-time with Yan Dhanda's goal. Kabangu then put Hearts in the lead before Kevin McHattie's own goal sealed the victory for the Jambos.
Kabangu, who joined Hearts on loan from Union St Gilloise, made his debut in the starting lineup alongside Adam Forrester, Dhanda, and Kenneth Vargas.
Brechin City showed some threat in attack, with Marc Scott coming close, but Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon was not troubled by his shot.
Brechin took the lead through Bright's stunning long-range strike, but Hearts responded with Dhanda's goal before Kabangu's impactful performance turned the match around.
Kabangu, who scored on his debut off the bench in the last game against Aberdeen, continued his good form by adding another goal to secure the win for Hearts.
Hearts sealed the victory with James Wilson setting up Kabangu for his second goal, capping off a successful performance for the Belgian attacker.
