Kevin Schade scored twice as Brentford defeated Manchester United 4-3 in a thrilling match to enhance their chances of qualifying for Europe in the Premier League.
Despite Mason Mount opening the scoring for United, they couldn't replicate their previous week's success against Athletic Bilbao. Luk Shaw's own goal and Schade's first goal turned the game in Brentford's favor before the German forward added another goal in the second half.
Yoane Wissa scored Brentford's fourth goal before United mounted a late comeback with Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo finding the back of the net.
United made eight changes to their lineup from the Europa League match, and they struggled against Brentford's attacking threat led by Schade.
After falling behind to Mount's goal, Brentford equalized through an own goal by Shaw and took the lead with Schade's header. Schade scored his second goal after a cross from Bryan Mbeumo.
Another goal by Wissa put Brentford 4-1 ahead before United pulled back with goals from Garnacho and Diallo, but they couldn't find the equalizer in the end.
