Barnet close to making comeback to Football League following victory over Sutton

National League leaders Barnet moved closer to earning promotion with a 3-1 win against Sutton.

After going three games without a win and seeing their lead over York reduced, this match was very important for Barnet.

Mark Shelton scored first for Barnet in the seventh minute.

Siju Odelusi equalized for Sutton with a penalty in the 33rd minute following a handball by Barnet.

Sutton were left with 10 players after Tyler French was sent off early in the second half, conceding a penalty which Shelton converted to put Barnet back in the lead.

Adebola Oluwo sealed the victory with a goal nine minutes before the end, extending Barnet's lead to six points with two games remaining.
