Sandro Tonali scored an amazing goal to help Newcastle's chances in the race for Champions League qualification during their 2-1 victory over Brentford.
Alexander Isak scored his 20th Premier League goal of the season, securing the lead for Newcastle just before the halftime break. Tonali then became the hero of the match by scoring twice, including a superb winning goal 16 minutes before the final whistle.
Despite Bryan Mbeumo equalizing with a penalty kick, Tonali's goal secured Newcastle's fifth place in the league standings with a game in hand.
Isak had a missed opportunity early in the game, and Brentford also had their chances, but it was Tonali's impressive performance that made the difference in the end.
Newcastle dominated the game, but Brentford kept pushing back, making the victory hard-earned for the Magpies.
Tonali's stunning winning goal, scored from a difficult angle, secured the much-needed three points for Newcastle, much to the delight of the 52,021 fans at St James' Park.
